A Time to Reflect !

Time is forever irredeemable and once wasted, that is a precious opportunity lost and you will live to regret of how naive you were not to have embraced it well when it presented itself.

The year started the other day, and now we are counting down the last days of the year and honestly speaking, you could be shocked or surprised that not all or even half of the new year’s resolution and task list has been met fully. So where does the problem lie or why aren’t we able to accomplish our long list of task(s) outline?

I honestly believe that it takes wisdom for us to know how to best utilize the time at our disposal. Psalm 90 that is attributed to Moses the man of God, asks the Lord to teach him to number his days well. The truth of his request to God must have been so that he could have a better understanding of the meaning of his own life. I guess that he looked and longed to make use of his time well beyond mortality and that is for eternity or rather eternal purpose.

My question therefore to you my reader is simple and yet profound to ponder over as you wrap up the year. Are you living your time and life for only the present or for eternal? Are you aware that we are only pilgrims and not settlers here? And finally, are you aware that you have an expiry date and after that you will meet your maker to give an account of how you used this resource of time he gave you? Time to ruminate on this !!

Are you the light?

Matthew 5:14-16,Jesus in His teachings referred believers as being the light of the world. The world is full of darkness and so desperately it needs light coming  into this space.

Nobody wants to identify with darkness as it is associated with evil things and it’s during darkness that people commit things for they believe nobody would be able to see them.

However,Jesus introduces us to the opposite of darkness and that’s the light.During darkness, things are hidden and all sorts of evil is committed. The presence of light into a dark place, reveals all those things that are hidden and exposes them.

So Jesus called us as the light into a dark place(world). The reason why people put up light is to enable others see what is present without any fear of the unknown. Another great purpose of the light,is that once men see your light, and your good works, they will glorify God who resides in you.

Remember that all things must be centered on glorifying God and not man.God has already that He can’t share His glory with man for He is God.

So every morning when you wake up,the key question to ask yourself must always be

How do I become the light to the darkness around me?

How best can I express my light  and not hide it?

How can I continue to show my light through my good works?

Lastly, how do I make sure that my light remains and brings glory to God?

Walk and work while it’s daylight for days are coming and already are hear when people love darkness and can’t stand the light. So make sure that your light is seen well and not hidden for God wants to glorify Himself through and in you.

Lastly, make it your #1 priority on how you can serve others and glorify God while doing your part in bringing people back to God.

What impact are you making?

Each day as you head out of your house to work, business appointment, community work, church, or any other engagement, what is the one great question that you must ask yourself?

Probably you do or not and going by that i would suggest that the most important question in anyone’s mind must be what positive impact or influence am i going to make today that will help meet someone’s needs? This question will act as a reminder to us all to realize that we don’t necessarily live for ourselves here on earth but that our little and sometimes small contributions are what is needed to make a whole difference in others’ lives. So what is your positive contribution to others’ lives?

This world is looking for men and women who can cause a positive contribution or influence in others’ lives or rather simply put this way “we are in dire need of positive influencers that we can all imitate, learn from or borrow some attributes that will give meaning and purpose for our living

The Words of Jesus in Matthew 5:13-16,while referring to believers as the salt of the earth and the light of the world, are worth noting that they set us aside and place a higher expectation on us to be positive influencers in a world that has lowered the moral standards of living way below what God’s plan for man.

So, get out of your slumber, shake off the dust and purpose intentionally to start your day with a focus of making someone’s’ life better than it was. And don’t forget that if you water other people’s lives, God will in turn cause others to water yours in turn.

Let’s take courage and move into action!

There is Still Hope!(Ezekiel 37:1-10)

We live in times that a lot of people have either lost hope or almost in the process of losing hope to live for tomorrow and the days ahead. This is because we face severe challenges, circumstances or situations that seem too complex and seem to defy logic. Many times as human beings, we want to figure out things by ourselves and the trajectory they are likely to take. But unfortunately that is not how they work in the spiritual realm.

The hand of the LORD came upon Ezekiel the prophet and the Spirit of the Lord set him down in the midst of the valley of the dry bones. And the Lord caused him to pass by them all and indeed they were very many and very dry. Asked by the Lord whether these bones could live, Ezekiel responded “O Lord God, You know”. How could you have responded if this question was posed to you? Maybe most likely by saying its impossible!

The Lord said to Ezekiel “Prophesy to these bones, and let them hear the word of the Lord”.Whose word do you use to speak to your dry things, circumstances in your life?.The Lord’s word was that “Surely,I will cause breath to enter into you.and you shall live,I will put sinews on you, will bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you,and you shall live “then you shall know that Iam the LORD.Understand friend that restoration, revival is a process and must not be confused with what many think and imagine that they can turn on and off God when they want to their demands met.God is a timing God and has an opportune time for everything.

So Ezekiel prophesied as commanded by the Lord and there was a noise and suddenly a rattling ,and the bones came together ,bone to bone. A valley that was full of very dry bones, suddenly there appeared to be some movement, hope and life as sinews, flesh and and skin covered the dry bones. Does this seem like revival, restoration time was here and what could you have done if it was you present?

The Lord said to Ezekiel, prophesy son of man to the breath, and say to the breath, thus says the Lord O, breath, Come from the four winds breath on these slain, that they may live. So as Ezekiel ,prophesied as commanded by the Lord, breath came into them ,they lived and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army. What could you have done after seeing all this and bearing in mind that it was initially a valley full of very dry bones?

Relevant lessons from this story;

-There is no situation, challenge, circumstance in your life that can defy God.

-God wants you to acknowledge that He is the one who knows the condition of every situation in your life.

-We are limited to what we know and must turn to God for help.

-God wants your participation in the revival, restoration process(He wants you to take the first step and then He takes up from there to end).

-Hope, restoration is a process that follows God’s laid down procedure(dry bones, sinews, flesh, skin, and finally breath)

-It is in our valleys that God starts the hope and restoration process.

-Our valleys, are God’s starting points to cause things happen in our lives.

-Without valleys, we can not acknowledge God’s divine power of restoration and hope.

-Turn every valley in your life, family, marriage, children, business, ministry to God and watch what the LORD is going to do to you.

HOPE IS REAL!!
