Time to Pause

Life is full of busyness and the stress of daily things that we have to deal with. And in the midst of all these, many miss the opportunities that God presents us with to appreciate and acknowledge all the things He has created and put in place for us to enjoy.

Talk to people and you will be amazed to hear the excuses they have why they can not do things and yet there are numerous opportunities that need to be embraced as we move on with our own lives. Seasons come and go quick and we look back and wonder what happened with time. I want to remind us all that nothing has happened with time, it is the same how God gave it to us. However, what has happened is that we have lost the power to prioritize things well within the time and seasons that God has given to us.

Our priorities are upside down and never seem to appreciate the times and all that God has placed in the universe. We are constantly running to do things that we claim to be priorities to us and give excuses that we have no time. We only come to realize the opportunities that we lost, once they are long gone and live to regret of how we failed to grab the opportunity and make use of them.

Think for a moment, how many of us were so busy and failed to create time to visit our family members, friends while they were there and strong for us, and yet with lifes’ shortness, once they are separated from us, we remain wondering how we missed the opportunity to be with them. Is this the kind of life that you would want to go through?

My challenge today to all of us is that seasons come and go quick, life is short, even if we were to be given all the time in this world, we would still complain that we don’t have time to do all those things, and yet have no ability to replace opportunities lost, family and friends lost. I encourage all of us to pause for a moment and ask this simple yet profound question

What really matters to me with all the opportunities that God has given to me? It is time to pause, put aside life’s busyness and stresses and acknowledge and appreciate all that we have within and around us.
